Re: Wake foil buildWell it didn’t break..... I wasn’t able to stay up long, it is deceptively difficult to ride. Will be a bit more pleasant when the water warms up. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Re: Wake foil buildAwesome mate! Have you ridden a foil before? They take some getting used to!
Enjoy the ride. Any time on the water is good time!
Re: Wake foil buildHey Will, yeah never ridden or even seen a foil before this so is a bit of a learning. It has a mind of its own and unlike anything I’ve ever ridden before but will be fun getting dialed in. I already have the next model thought out. No wood, UHMW plastic for the foil and aluminium for the mast and other bits. Will be far easier to tig it all up.

Re: Wake foil buildNice one. Looks like you came straight out of the water and up on to the foil?
A while ago I had a go of a mates high end kitesurfing foil behind our boat. To say it was challenging was an understatement. On his you got up and rode along with the board on the water and slowly put more weight back when you wanted to go up and start foiling. If you were able to do this I think it would be much easier way to learn. His was super difficult as it is a high performance foil that only really lifts at around 17mph which is pretty quick compared to wakesurf foils that lift at under 10mph. I was also scared of cutting myself in half when falling off as it was bloody sharp! Brownie knows boats!
Re: Wake foil buildYeah JB, that’s exactly what happened. I just need to spend some time trying different things like you said. It will be a bit nicer when the water warms up though.
