Re: AnchorNothing??
Re: Anchor
I think this place is dead.... American people rate box anchors but ive never seen or used one. Just go with a danforth anchor and you should be good just make sure its sized correctly and have sufficent chain on it before the rope otherwise you'll risk dragging it. Anchors are one of those things you pay for what you.
Re: AnchorYep, I use a fairly small sand anchor with about 6ft of chain before the rope. To stop it from pulling out when the rollers hit the boat I use a few wraps of 8mm bungee (about 4ft), attach one end some where in the middle of the rope, stretch the bungee along the rope and where it stops attach that end to the rope. It allows the anchoring rope to have a shock absorber and I have found that since doing this I rarely have to reset the anchor. And since the rope is not cut you have piece of mind if the bungee lets go.
