I was curious to know what people are using in their engines?? My 2006 Mercruiser Black Scorpion 330hp is due very soon and want to make the best choice.

I used Penrite HPR 20W60 in the Chev bit thicker than normal but because the engine was built in the 70s I was told to go thicker and it's never going to be a cold day, otherwise I would have gone 10w60.
I'm pretty sure anything but supermarket oils good, the key is how often u change it apposed to what oil.
I only do it at the start of the season.

Side comment:
I've been told to turn the engine over during the winter to keep the rings lubricated but the guy that dynod my engine the other week said on the last run of the season to spray wd40 in the spark plug holes and not touch it till the following season.

I would have thought the Merceuiser oil would be the go. It is a 25w40 from memory.

I looked for the Mercury Quicksilver 25-40 which appears difficult to come by here in AUS but after talking to a few boat service shops I found that one of them uses Castrol Magnatec and the other wouldn't tell me. So I have gone with a Penrite 15-40 full synthetic high zinc oil after trolling some USA engine sites. (and Juddys advice of course :-) )
