Lake Dyer.Bull Gunn Dam

Postby Pesty » Sat Apr 19, 2014 4:12 pm

Can anyone give me a run down on Lake Dyer. We are looking for somewhere different to take the boat, and I was just wondering if anyone can tell me whether its worth taking a trip out there for boarding/skiing.
It only looks quite small, so I'm assuming it is likely to get crowded easily.

I go there occasionally as it's the closest dam to me, it's pretty good until you get more than a few boats because it is so small. It can get quite busy and then we just end up tubing because it's no good for skiing or wakeboarding. I was there Anzac day last year and I was one of about 4 boats, it was great then!

Cool. Thanks for the heads up. We're on the Goldy and just looking at some alternatives to the Maroon/Moogerah Dams. If anyone out there wants to build a dam at the back of the Goldy, I'm pretty handy with a shovel!
Maybe they should open up Hinze Dam to really good blokes.

What are Maroon and Moogerah like for skiing, camping etc. Do they get very busy?

Moogerah gets busy. Smooth water is only attainable at 5am when everyone else hasn't woken up yet
