yeah snapped my achillies tendon. crashed a tantrum during a "wake-off" with fordy. my toes tried to touch my knee. in a cast for a few more weeks but not 100% until next season. my new nick name is "danger", as in danger to myself. oh well, plenty of time to work on my boat driving skills. never heard of anyone snapping an achillies wakeboarding before, could be a first.

Laucestons great if you have a boat as there is a good lake 10min from the cbd, last year when i lived near the uni it took me 15 - 20min to have the boat in the water. Hopefully i will get my boat back up there this year in the next few weeks, just have to get the new trailer finished. Got a new tow car ths year so the trev boat ramp wont be a problem.

As for surfing the best spots are either on the west or east coast's of tassie both afair drive from lauceston.

Bring on launnie cup on wednesday :D :D :D

Who's going???

Loved to be going but gota work damn it!

Pretty quiet in this thread of late? What's been going on?

Barrington has had the guts sucked out of it but still tryin to get up there as much as possible... This weather has been sweet bar the couple of rough days i've had up there...

Hopefully see some more boarders up the lake soon!

I'm pretty sure there is a Tassie surfers website which might be good for look at some spots to hit some waves...

Keep it real guys!

Spoke with the west tamar council today and Parks they said that it was up to 120,000 per/mL of algae back down to 26,000per/mL as of last fridays test has to get down below 10,000ish before it's demend safe. They will test it tomorra hopefully its down and then test again next friday and if it's still down they will reopen it. He also said that there has been a study launched this year as to why it's happing.

The parks dude said if we really want to use the lake, to launch at Hadspen and drive down....

Went riding at longford on sunday and monday. Sunday was lots of boats and majority of them aquabogans. Monday was absolutely tops but! (Sorry ben and tom, scrim had organised a full crew by the time i found out, will let you guys know next time going if your still keen!)

One of the guys who came with us sunday was vomiting and dirherra (spelling?) all monday from doctors diagnoses as algae poisoning! We were wondering why he was just sick and not us then He then told us he was thirsty after his ride so filled up his drink bottle with river water! Haha

Yeh we were there pretty late monday, only saw 2 other boats, one was leaving when we got there, and the other only just showed up when we left.

Went again today, not bad, only a few other boats there, good to see most of them all wakeboarding too! No dramas, most of them pretty safe except for 1 skiier who seemed to enjoy driving up the ass of our rider a few times.

Sounds like you did strike it lucky i hsd to be off the water early monday so i copped every one else on there but that is the way it goes. I usually try to get there early and get a few runs in before anyone else especially for the ski runs and then do the boarding later in the day when everyone else is so every one is traveling at a similar speed.
would have been nice for a run today but been working so that buggered that up.

Haha seems they were everywhere yesterday Tom. I think they need to put lane markings or a sign saying "2 Vehicle Ramp" at longford. Some just dont get it. There were about 6 trailers lined up to use the ramp, after the first 2 that parked in the middle left, the next guy (twin jet ski trailer towed by a new mercedes 4wd), backed down one side but jack knifed his trailer a few times and then parked it jack knifed on the ramp. (Water was nearly upto the doors, mmmm nice for that car!) I think he was trying to make it easier to get his jet skis on (so he could walk them on in the shallow instead of driving them or walking them into the deep water??) I think he was a little unhappy when we tried to use the other side of the ramp at the same time, but anyway, there were 3 or 4 other boats retrieved while he was trying to get his 2 jet skis on the trailer, Haha![/quote]

Australia day is always hot and still. Lots of people around and lots of partying.

Barrington was great on the weekend pretty warm and lots of good water to be had.
