yeah snapped my achillies tendon. crashed a tantrum during a "wake-off" with fordy. my toes tried to touch my knee. in a cast for a few more weeks but not 100% until next season. my new nick name is "danger", as in danger to myself. oh well, plenty of time to work on my boat driving skills. never heard of anyone snapping an achillies wakeboarding before, could be a first.
danger! thats no good to hear mate, good luck with recovery.
ah i'm back in tazzy next week, have to catch up with you guys for brews or riding sometime. might have to find a weekend to come down to meadowbank before winter sets in, seeing i havent even been there before mace
just wondering whats the longest you guys camp at meadowbank? (or anywhere else for that matter). we were there from dec 19 to 29 last year. Xmas at the lake with an early morning set, cant ask for much more!!

hey guys i just started at the amc in launceston, does any one know if there is much of wakeboard community at the amc or even in launceston, i have spoken to a few fellas on this thread last year, but whats it like now?
also does any one know of anywhere to go for a surf around here thats not ages away, i looked on the ineternet for scamander and thats like 2 hours away, is there anything closer or is that as close as it gets?
Laucestons great if you have a boat as there is a good lake 10min from the cbd, last year when i lived near the uni it took me 15 - 20min to have the boat in the water. Hopefully i will get my boat back up there this year in the next few weeks, just have to get the new trailer finished. Got a new tow car ths year so the trev boat ramp wont be a problem.
As for surfing the best spots are either on the west or east coast's of tassie both afair drive from lauceston. Bring on launnie cup on wednesday Who's going??? Bones heal, chicks dig scars, pain is temporary, but glory lasts forever

I head to New Norfolk since its closer than Meadowbank. This is the earliest I started the session, usually start mid Oct. but I’m just mad keen to get out there! Plus I’m heading away over the summer holidays so wont be able to ride til March!
Spoke with the west tamar council today and Parks they said that it was up to 120,000 per/mL of algae back down to 26,000per/mL as of last fridays test has to get down below 10,000ish before it's demend safe. They will test it tomorra hopefully its down and then test again next friday and if it's still down they will reopen it. He also said that there has been a study launched this year as to why it's happing.
The parks dude said if we really want to use the lake, to launch at Hadspen and drive down.... Bones heal, chicks dig scars, pain is temporary, but glory lasts forever

Went riding at longford on sunday and monday. Sunday was lots of boats and majority of them aquabogans. Monday was absolutely tops but! (Sorry ben and tom, scrim had organised a full crew by the time i found out, will let you guys know next time going if your still keen!)
One of the guys who came with us sunday was vomiting and dirherra (spelling?) all monday from doctors diagnoses as algae poisoning! We were wondering why he was just sick and not us then He then told us he was thirsty after his ride so filled up his drink bottle with river water! Haha
You must have struck it at the right time monday when i first got up there there where a couple of d#*k heads there trying to do the circuit the wrong way, they soon got the message though when every one kept meeting them head on.
how good was the long weekend bash at meadowbank! glass for most of the weekend, and probably one of the best parties in a long while on the sunday night. didn't get back to our site until about 4am.... offa.
i do remember chilli killing it on the decks and girls dancing in wet bikinis. good times anyone else there?
Yeh we were there pretty late monday, only saw 2 other boats, one was leaving when we got there, and the other only just showed up when we left. Went again today, not bad, only a few other boats there, good to see most of them all wakeboarding too! No dramas, most of them pretty safe except for 1 skiier who seemed to enjoy driving up the ass of our rider a few times.
Sounds like you did strike it lucky i hsd to be off the water early monday so i copped every one else on there but that is the way it goes. I usually try to get there early and get a few runs in before anyone else especially for the ski runs and then do the boarding later in the day when everyone else is so every one is traveling at a similar speed.
would have been nice for a run today but been working so that buggered that up.
Hell yeah I was there at the long wekeend bash! Was flamin massive night on the Sunday! Hadn't helped we'd been on the gas ever since we got there on the Friday night tho eh...
I was part of the crew from up north... The Sunday night was bit of a blur for me...Pitty really cos Chilla would have been sweet as to remeber... Lovin the lake...Lovin the crew...Lovin the ridin! Epic time all weekend and hopefully get back down soon!
How's going to be boarding the easter long weekend?
Weather is going off atm...I'll be on water! Barrington or maybe Meadow Bank!
Had an epic day at barrigton today glass most of the day,

Haha seems they were everywhere yesterday Tom. I think they need to put lane markings or a sign saying "2 Vehicle Ramp" at longford. Some just dont get it. There were about 6 trailers lined up to use the ramp, after the first 2 that parked in the middle left, the next guy (twin jet ski trailer towed by a new mercedes 4wd), backed down one side but jack knifed his trailer a few times and then parked it jack knifed on the ramp. (Water was nearly upto the doors, mmmm nice for that car!) I think he was trying to make it easier to get his jet skis on (so he could walk them on in the shallow instead of driving them or walking them into the deep water??) I think he was a little unhappy when we tried to use the other side of the ramp at the same time, but anyway, there were 3 or 4 other boats retrieved while he was trying to get his 2 jet skis on the trailer, Haha![/quote]
Any news on trev?? i'll give them a call tomorra and find out.
