Hey Batty and Oddy how do you tell that Smokes trailer looks like its for a mid-mount? mines the blue VLX on page 15 and i cant tell the difference :?:

Location of the wheels. Vdrives are closer to the rear of the trailer. Dunno, just guessing, all malibus look the same to me.

Yeah the wheels are usually further back on a rear mount....the wheels are usual where most of the weight is.

If you have too much weight hanging past the wheels the trailer will start to sway badly....it gets worse the faster you go....I have actually been in a car when it has happen and it flipped the trailer and it is one of the scariest things i have been involved in.

I have the same model VLX, just checked my trailer and its the same. the tower feet are exactly in the middle of the 2 wheels on the trailer just like the pic above.

If the correct amount of tow ball weight is present, the sway etc won't happen. That scenario is generally when there is lift on the ball from a badly loaded trailer / c'van

yeah i have experienced the wheel placement/towing issues, i used to have motocross trailer that was a prick with this problem exactly, but im with thekid9012, the centre of my wheels is right at the tower, kinda how smokes looks like.
