The Haines Group Focuses on it’s Core Business Fri Sep 03, 2010 1:10 pm (Comments)
Effective immediately The Haines Group will no longer be distributing Corrects Craft’s Nautique range of tow boats in Australia.

The Haines Group and the Haines family name have been respected and recognised as a giant in the Australian marine industry for more than 50 years. Initially as a boat builder that has seen great success with brands such as Signature, Traveller and Seafarer fibreglass boats The Haines Group have developed a network, understanding and respect within the marine industry that has seen them often approached by overseas manufacturers to distribute their product in Australia and New Zealand.

Certain product lines have had a good fit with The Haines Group’s company ethos of “you do get what you pay for” which succinctly expresses the philosophy of only building, distributing and associating with the best marine products that money can buy. This is true of Suzuki Marine outboards, Walker Bay inflatable boats and of course Nautique tow boats.

Nautique initially approached The Haines Group in 2002 and following 8 years distributing Nautique tow boats in Australia, The Haines Group have taken the decision to hand the brand back to the USA. This decision has been taken to allow The Haines Group to focus on it’s core business which has kept the company strong for more than 50 years.

Over the last 8 years The Haines Group have supported and grown the Nautique brand in Australia with a strong advertising and sponsorship programme which included 4 years as naming rights sponsor of the Australian Pro Tour of Wakeboarding and 8 years as sponsor of the Moomba Masters ski tournament. The Haines Group have sponsored well known Australian athletes under the Nautique banner.

All current orders in the system will be honoured and competed. All sales, warranty, spare parts, advertising and sponsorship requests should now go directly to the USA via www.nautiques.com . Current Nautique dealers will be liaising directly with Correct Craft to arrange new dealer agreements and a direct relationship.

The Haines Group would like to take this opportunity to thank all Nautique owners that we have had the pleasure of dealing with over the last 8 years and we hope you continue to enjoy your boats.

13-Year-Old Aussie Wows the Competition in WWA Wakeboard World Championship Opener Fri Aug 20, 2010 11:08 am (Comments)
Tony Iacconi team MasterCraft rider.

Among the 102 amateur riders who competed today, only 63 advanced in the contest, including 13-year-old Australian native Tony Iacconi. Iacconi, the 2009 Boys division world champion, decided to forgo his final year within the 10-13 age group to compete in the more advanced 18 & under Jr. Men’s division.

“If you win a division one year, you should move onto a harder one the following year,” said Iacconi. “It’s not all about winning; it’s about challenging yourself to become a better rider. I want to compete against riders better than me and learn from that experience.”

Iacconi more than exceeded his expectations during today’s Jr. Men’s division semifinals, as the Australian young gun won his heat by nearly 20 points. In his run, Iacconi landed several impressive tricks, including a KGB, a Dumb Dumb, and a Toeside Backside 360.

“To be honest, I really wasn’t sure if I was going to make it through the semis today,” said Iacconi. “I’m just stoked to make it into the finals, so whatever happens tomorrow is a bonus.”

Iacconi and the five other Jr. Men finalists will hit the water tomorrow, Friday, Aug. 20 at 2 p.m.
